The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently accepting applications on behalf of our Client, a newly structured and tightly-held Nevada focused gold explorer, for a Vice President of Exploration to lead the charge towards discovery of an economic deposit on their newly-acquired, flagship project. The project is located in northern Nevada within the Northern Nevada Rift near the juncture with the Carlin Trend, and is directly adjacent to a very prominent low-sulfidation, bonanza grade, epithermal gold deposit.

The 11,000+ acre project has seen very little work on it, despite two major mining companies making high-grade discovery holes on different sections of the property, returning grades in excess of 4 ounces/t.  The project hasn’t seen any drilling in over 10 years, a victim of a bear market and forgotten in a privco ever since. With incredibly promising results from the very limited exploration this large project has seen thus far (sub 10,000m), our Client is looking for an established name within the Nevada exploration community to step in to systematically explore it in the way it deserves.

This is effectively a brand-new company, that comes with an impeccable Board, and a blue-sky project in “elephant country” that hasn’t seen any substantial work on it in well over a decade despite past high-grade results, and proximity to other high-profile deposits of a similar nature. This is a large property that has garnered significant interest from major mining companies in the past and represents pure opportunity in the hands of this new junior.

Reporting to the President and C.E.O., the Vice President of Exploration will be responsible for the following:

• Preparing and implementing exploration strategy, plans, permitting and budgets
• Source and evaluate opportunities for acquisition and development
• Managing and liaising with staff and consultants

The ideal candidate would be a registered professional geologist with a minimum of 20 years of increasingly senior exploration experience, with a significant focus on low sulphidation, epithermal gold deposits. Previous experience or exposure to Hollister or Midas would be ideal. The successful applicant will be a known-entity within the Nevada mineral exploration community with a track record of discovery with the aim of serving as a prominent component of our Client’s senior executive team within the Market.
