The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a junior exploration company with a growing Ag/Zn resource based in Vancouver and focused on their flagship asset located in Coahuila State, Mexico.  Having secured a large strategic investor, the Company is embarking upon what shall be a large, multi-year, fully funded exploration campaign and are seeking a full time Vice President of Exploration to direct it.

You will be responsible for implementing and fine tuning the exploration and resource definition programs at the flagship project in Mexico and you will have overall responsibility for all exploration activities on this growing project. You will be expected to be actively involved in the fieldwork on site and will take leadership of geologists and contractors and will guide their activities to ensure the success of the work programs.

In addition you will also work closely in a supporting and advisory role to the Operations Manager. Specifically this may involve; aiding in negotiation to secure surface and mineral title in applicable areas, ensuring that the company meets all its governmental obligations, and ensuring all appropriate environmental, mining, and exploration permits are in place and up to date. You will also work to continue the Company’s positive relations with the various governmental agencies and local communities, a task that is critical to the success of their endeavours.

The ideal candidate would have experience working leading exploration on other notable projects in Mexico and be fluent in both Spanish and English. We’re after a P.Geo that brings at least 15 years of relevant experience to the table that is also proficient with GIS and modelling programs.  This growing project has seen in excess of 100,000m of historic drilling, meaning there is a large amount of data to utilize and digest.  In a perfect world, the incumbent would be based in Vancouver, as that is where our Client is headquartered, though as most of the work will be directed on the ground in Mexico, it isn’t required.
