Established and Highly Reputable Management Group

Our Client is a privately held management company providing services to publicly traded junior mining exploration companies.

They are currently seeking an experienced corporate development individual who is experienced, aggressive and well established in the North American and European capital markets. This person likely has a stable of contacts in the financing world which, augmented by our Client’s own extensive financing network, will assist the individual in funding the Group’s Clients needs.

This person will be responsible for:

  • Equity capital markets: advising clients on how much capital to raise, from whom and when.
  • Origination: assessing a deal’s desirability in the markets, which may include innovative financing plans, from a financial institution rather than the client. Financial models are employed to simulate possible outcomes.
  • Execution: structuring and negotiating the detailed terms of a deal, often in liaison with other professionals, and
  • Lead a small group of corporate development professionals to trade shows representing the clients’ interests and present the companies to international finance groups.

This well rounded respected financier will manage the transaction process, assessing the clients’ needs with the equity markets, the impact of the deal and the timing required. Legal, regulatory and financial acumen is mandatory.

The individual will work with financial institutions and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with and to support clients financing requirements. He will lead a multi functional group of professionals in matching clients’ financing needs with their exploration budgets.

Typical activities on a day-to-day basis include:

  • Maintaining continuous contacts with key individuals and institutions invested in and following the Groups’ client base,
  • Informing market research groups with data to perform their research reports on the clients
  • Thoroughly researching equity markets (North America and Europe) conditions and developments;
  • Identifying new business and financing opportunities;
  • Utilizing financial modeling techniques, developing and presenting appropriate financial solutions to clients;
  • Liaise with the clients’ chief executive officer, chief finance officer and chief geologist;
  • Structuring and budgeting individual marketing campaigns for the Groups’ clients.

The ability and willingness to travel, primarily in North America to various trade shows, is a definite requirement. Some European travel will also be required.
