Vice President – Latin American Gold Exploration Co.

The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a newly established and extremely well financed exploration company that is based in Vancouver with a project portfolio throughout Brazil in addition to other Latin American countries.

Reporting to the President and C.E.O., the Vice President of Exploration will be responsible for the following:

• Planning and directing the Company’s exploration activities
• Preparing and implementing a consolidated exploration plan and budget
• Commissioning and direct supervision of outside consultants and staff
• Achieving the corporation’s exploration goals on time and within budget
• Reporting exploration results and expenditures to the President and C.E.O. on a regular basis as to be agreed upon
• Contributing to corporate strategic plan
• Coordinating and liasing with outside consultants and business partners in achieving exploration goals and identifying opportunities
• Identifying exploration opportunities consistent with the corporate strategic plan, and assisting in negotiations for the acquisition of such opportunities
• Assisting in evaluation of opportunities for acquisition and development as required

The ideal candidate would be a registered professional geologist with a minimum of 15 years of experience and has acted as an Exploration Manager or VP Exploration for other Latin American focused resource companies. The successful candidate must be able to forge and maintain business partnerships with contractors, governments and local communities as well as be able to contribute to presentations to investors and potential investors. The successful candidate should also have experience reporting to a board of directors.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working within Latin America and will have a command of the Spanish language. Portuguese would also be a significant asset though not a requirement.
