The Mining Recruitment Group has been retained to lead the executive search process to identify and secure a Vice President, Engineering for our Client, as they continue to advance underground work on their recently acquired, past producing mine.

The VP Engineering will lead the engineering & development function for the Company as they look to go back underground on their flagship project, a past producer in the Golden Triangle, with an aim to drill in the quest to add ounces. As an extensive underground program is planned, they will need a mining engineer capable of overseeing the re-opening of shafts and establishing ventilation, while overseeing muck removal.

In addition, the Incumbent will have assist the CEO and technical team with:

  • High-level strategy and project design
  • Evaluation of possible acquisitions
  • Advancement of projects to and through EA and permitting
  • “Owners Rep”  – supervision and cost control of mining, geotechnical and closure/reclamation contractors and partners
  • Permit and regulatory compliance (mainly on mining side)
  • Safety and ERP audits
  • TSF QP (new role under Code)
  • Preparation and sign-off as P.Eng for some mine plans, manuals etc (e.g. ground-control, ventilation, sediment control etc)
  • Mentorship of junior EIT staff members

The ideal candidate will be a development focused mining engineer with extensive underground experience and a background operating within BC focused companies.

Based in Vancouver BC, the incumbent will be required to spend a significant amount of time at site as the project moves marches towards construction.
