Project Director- Open Pit

POSITION:
Project Director- From PEA to BFS
LOCATION:
Vancouver
SALARY:

Project Director

From PEA to Production

The Mining Recruitment Group has been retained to lead the executive search process to identify and secure a Project Director for our Client, that will help them see their flagship project advance from PEA through to full BFS.

The Project Director will serve as the owners representative, working with consultants on the management and definition of the project scope and design parameters, technical and economic evaluation and environmental assessment and permitting process.  Working closely with mining consultants, the Incumbent will oversee strategizing, detailed engineering and mine design and construction, ore processing and operational methodologies including EPC(M) contract management plan for construction and budget activities, technology selection & procurement, environment compliances and recruiting subordinate staff.

The project is a large gold-copper porphyry with a PEA that boasts a 25 year mine life and an (after tax) NPV of more than $400m. The property consists of two separate mineral resource estimates approximately 14 km apart. Conventional truck and shovel open pit mining is planned with a staged approach to production output, starting at 10,000 tonnes per day (tpd), ramping up to 20,000 tpd in year 6, and reaching 30,000 tpd in year 12. The staged approach was adopted to limit operational, technical and capital risks that are typical of new mine start-ups.

We’re looking for an accomplished project development professional that has had significant experience advancing open pit operations from conception/PEA through to BFS, ideally with past experience with other BC gold companies.  As our Client has past producing underground mines in their portfolio, the ideal applicant will also play a key role on engineering matters as it relates to advancing these as well.  Our Client is after a P.Eng with a background in mining engineering, that brings +20 years of project development experience to the table, and has successfully stewarded PEA projects forward to BFS previously

All qualified professionals wishing to be considered for this role are invited to submit their resume and cover letter in confidence to: Info@Miningrecruitmentgroup.com

Please note that due to the number of applications we receive, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
