Our client, an emerging gold producer in British Columbia is searching for a full time Lands Administrator responsible for managing all aspects of the Company’s mineral land package. Reporting to the Vice President Exploration, the successful candidate can be based anywhere in British Columbia and have demonstrated experience successfully maintaining large mineral properties.  This opportunity affords the successful applicant the ability to work from home as desired.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience maintaining mineral and placer titles as well as Crown Granted lands within British Columbia and other jurisdictions
  • High level of diligence and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills in data management, analysis and reporting
  • Strong initiative, ability to work independently and utilize consensus decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, collaborative and professional under pressure and deadlines
  • Familiar with all aspects of a land department
  • Ability to work with and keep confidential, sensitive information

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a spatial mineral titles database
  • Monitor and report competitor activity
  • Communicate potential opportunities with other members of the management team
  • Ensure timely completion of assessment reports and filings
  • Analyze and interpret complex leases, contracts and/or instruments to determine and monitor ownership, rights, obligations, responsibilities
  • Perform set-up and maintenance of leases, minerals, contracts and surface records
  • Assimilate and circulate monthly calendars for expiring properties and for payment of rentals, minimum royalties
  • Responsible for acreage figures concerning press releases, investor presentations, and corporate reporting

Education, Relevant Experience, Knowledge and Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis in properties administration
  • Significant background in title, lease and contract analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Office 365


Other Skills, Abilities or Preferred Qualifications:

  • High-level experience in spatial GIS database administration as it pertains to lands management
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communications skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independent of direct supervision
  • Strong verbal and written language skills for the clear communication of information and ideas
  • Team player with the proven ability to interact with people. Ability to function successfully in a team environment working with other Land Department and accounting personnel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive business matters.
