Vice President of Exploration

The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a junior resource company comprised of a dedicated team of proven resource finders.   The company generates a high quality property portfolio and then partners with others to conduct the extraction of mineral assets.

Reporting to the President and C.E.O., the Vice President of Exploration will be responsible for the following:

- Planning and directing the Company's exploration activities

- Identifying exploration opportunities consistent with the corporate strategic plan, and assisting in negotiations for the acquisition of such opportunities

- Assisting in evaluation of opportunities for acquisition and development

- Preparing and implementing a consolidated exploration plan and budget

- Commissioning and direct supervision of outside consultants and staff

- Achieving the corporation's exploration goals within budget

- Contributing to corporate strategic plan

- Coordinating and liasing with outside consultants and business partners in achieving exploration goals and identifying opportunities

The ideal candidate would buy into the corporate methodology of aggressive aquisitions and project generation, and would be revenue focused.  As a Professional Geologist(P.Geo) with a minimum of five years work experience as an Exploration Manager or VP Exploration the incumbent should be proficient forging and maintaining business partnerships with joint venture partners, contractors, governments and local communities as well as be able to contribute to presentations to investors and potential investors.
